What is the difference between a module update and appliance update (RemoteUpdate)?

In the Miele app, module updates and appliance updates (RemoteUpdates) are different.

Module updates are usually updates relating to security that need to be applied to the WiFi module.

The appliance update option only appears in the Miele app when you connect appliances with RemoteUpdate-capability to your Miele app user account.

You will only be offered a RemoteUpdate when you activate the “RemoteUpdate” function in the appliance settings and when Miele has provided an update for the appliance in question. You will be notified in the Miele app if the “RemoteUpdate” function has been deactivated on your appliance.

When an update is available for your appliance, you will be notified on the appliance display or in the Miele app depending on the appliance model. You will then receive information on what the update entails in the Miele app.
