Automatic descaling not carried out

Set the Descaling timer or Maintenance timer to a different time when the coffee machine is switched off for at least 4 hours. For this reason, it is best to set an evening time or a regular time during which you are not at home during the day.

Deactivate MobileStart  for automatic descaling.

Ensure that the conditions for automatic descaling are fulfilled:

• Depending on the model: A ready-to-use descaling cartridge or cleaning and descaling cartridge is installed.

• The coffee machine is connected to the power supply. The coffee machine must not be disconnected from the electricity supply during automatic descaling.

• The drip tray, brew unit, and central spout are inserted.

• The water container has been filled.

  • Built-in appliances with water container operation: The water container has been filled with water at least up to the descaling symbol  and has been inserted.

  • Countertop appliances: The water container has been filled with water at least up to the  descaling symbol (at least 16 oz/500 mL water) and has been inserted.

• Carry out any instructions which appear on the display before switching off the coffee machine, e.g., Empty the drip tray or Empty and reinsert drip tray and grounds container.

• The appliance door is closed when the program is started.

• Countertop appliances: The milk pipework is inserted into the holders in the drip tray cover and on the central spout.

• The coffee machine is switched off.
