Empty drip tray appears on the coffee machine display during the descaling process even though the drip tray has already been emptied several times.
CM 5x00: Too much water was added for the descaling process.
Please note that you must not add more than 16 oz (0.5 L) of water into the water container to dissolve the descaler. Otherwise, the descaling solution will be too thin and limescale deposits may form on the appliance. In addition, faults may occur if the descaler solution flowing through the appliance is not measured properly.
The drip tray contacts (metal disks) are soiled.
The contacts (metal disks) will not be able to detect that the drip tray is full or has been installed if they are damp or dirty. Check the contacts and the area around them once a week.
The contacts (metal disks) are located at the back of the drip tray.
