The recess around the water container valve is a collection point for water droplets which collect over time as a result of the water container being removed. The collection point prevents water running down the side of the appliance.
This is not a fault.
Wipe this area dry regularly with a clean piece of kitchen roll.
If more water starts leaking from the water container:
Clean and dry the outside of the dispensing valve under the water container.
Clean the water container in the dishwasher, or by hand using a mild solution of warm water and liquid dish soap.
Carefully clean and dry the surface the water container sits on, particularly the recesses.
For appliances from serial number 152922013 onward:
Check the filter at the water intake valve. The water intake valve filter is located in the recess for the water container.
If the filter is dirty, clean it.
Remove the water container.
The water container filter is located under the water container.
Unscrew the cap.
Remove the sealing ring and the filter.
Clean the parts by hand. Clean the filter with water only without using cleaning agent in order to avoid possible unpleasant flavors.
Rinse all parts carefully under running water.
Reinsert the filter first (with the cross facing upward).
Insert the sealing ring. The opening of the sealing ring should face downward.
Screw the cap back on tightly.
Reinsert the water container.
