Power drops of its own accord

The power of one of the cooktop cooking zones drops automatically or the cooking zone switches itself off automatically.

If several cooking zones on an induction cooktop are in operation, the electronic may reduce the power of a cooking zone automatically.

Power management: The cooktop has a maximum total power output which cannot be exceeded for safety reasons. The higher the total power output of the cooktop, the more power levels/functions can be used on all cooking zones at the same time. If the set power levels/functions require more power than can be provided by the total output, the cooktop distributes the maximum power between the cooking zones.

No remedy required.

Additional information can be found in the linked video.

Overheating protection has been triggered.

The overheating protection may be activated under the following circumstances:

  • The cookware being heated is empty.

  • Fat or oil is being heated on a high power level.

  • Insufficient ventilation to the underside of the cooktop.

  • A hot cooking zone is turned back on after a power outage.

Allow the cooktop to cool down.

Rectify the causes of the overheating.

Check that the cooktop works.

If the problem occurs again, contact Miele Service.

Even after allowing for the causes referred to above, the cooking zone has no power or its power is significantly reduced.
